Singing for Syrians 2017 is here and we’re launching it in the House of Commons today!

For the last two years people from all over the UK have been raising the roof to sing for Syrians around and beyond the month of December to raise funds and awareness for some of Syria’s most vulnerable.

Today’s launch will see a host of MP’s, press, supporters and people who have pledged to get involved getting together to hear from Jon Snow, of Channel 4 News, Dr Tirej Brimo, a Syrian refugee and doctor, and Dr Mounir Hakimi from Syria Relief. We’ll be encouraging as many MP’s as possible to fly the Singing for Syrians flag in their own constituencies.

This year we’re going bigger and better, with more people, schools, choirs, churches and bands. You name it, they’re there and we want you to get involved too.

Hold your own:

We have a shiny hold your own pack with everything you need to know to get started and plan your Singing for Syrians event. There are so many ways to cut this musical cake. Have a look here to see how. If hosting isn’t an option you can always attend an event, there will shortly be a list of Singing for Syrians events near you up on the Singing for Syrians website. The other way to support is simply to donate.

Flagship Singing for Syrians concert, St Margaret’s, Westminster:

Hands Up will once again be holding our flagship Singing for Syrians event in St Margaret’s, Westminster on 12th December and tickets will be on sale soon. There’ll be a star-studded array of readers and soloists. Last year these included Alexander Armstrong, Simon Callow, Tom Hollander, Brigid Keenan, Michael Morpurgo and Robert Peston and we are gathering an equally stellar cast of supporters for 2017.

Singing for Syrians is a positive and uplifting way of helping those most in need. Please join us to raise the roof for aid to Syria. The money will go towards the projects Hands Up funds in Syria, for detail on these, please see our website.
