The 6th story from our Al Hakawati series is from the intrepid author, photographer and filmmaker Levison Wood. Levison reads the introduction from his book 'The Last Giants, The Rise and Fall of the African Elephant', published by Hachette in February this year. The book explores the evolution of elephants and how they can survive in today's often cruel world. Levison tells of his own introduction to the African Elephant aged 11 through to how these majestic and beautiful animals have motivated some of his latest work. Huge thanks to Levison for agreeing to be one of our Al Hakawati storytellers and sharing his work, and to Nick MacDonald for editing.

While the world rightly focusses on COVID-19, it is so important that we do not forget those suffering in other ways. Hands Up funds vital health and education services in northern Syria and Lebanon. These services don't only provide schooling and care for patients, they also promote stability and hope. COVID19 threatens their continuation and we are determined to do all that we can to keep them going. Any donation you feel able to give will make a difference. Thank you.
